*** Summer 2019 Youth Employment Session Application Opens Monday, January 14, 2019 ***

The New Year is here and we are excited about the upcoming Summer 2019 Youth Employment Work Session for the Division of Family and Children Services’ Georgia TeenWork Internship Program. The Summer 2019 ** youth participant application will open on Monday, January 14, 2019 ** and we are looking forward to all of the youth who will apply.

This year we will be hosting mandatory job readiness training for all applicants and will be requiring the engagement and support of all youth caregivers and supporters to ensure all selected youth have a valuable and pleasant experience this summer.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure foster youth, ages 16-17,  participate in valuable job readiness training and work experiences to develop skills that promote self-sufficiency and independence. Our secondary goal is to ensure we continue to partner with businesses and organizations who are committed to contributing to the success of our youth who participate in the provided work experiences.

2019 Youth Participant Application

On Monday, January 14, 2019, the youth participant application will be available at the following website: https://dfcs.georgia.gov/teenwork.  Please see (and disseminate) the flyer to your youth who are eligible. To ensure eligible youth apply and are prepared to begin working, please see the 2019 Georgia TeenWork Eligibility Requirements below:

  • GEORGIA FOSTER YOUTH, AGES OF 16 - 17 YEARS OLD
  • VALID SOCIAL SECURITY CARD AND STATE OF GEORGIA ISSUED IDENTIFICATION CARD (or DRIVER’S LICENSE)
  • COMPLETED ONLINE APPLICATION (Application opens Monday, January 14, 2019 at https://dfcs.georgia.gov/teenwork )
  • COMPLETED PAYROLL PACKET (Provided by Georgia TeenWork Staff during application and selection period)
  • ATTEND ALL MANDATORY JOB READINESS TRAININGS (Job Readiness Training Schedule will be provided to all selected participants during application and selection period)
