*** Summer 2019 Youth Employment Work Session Application Re-Opened***

As we work to support Georgia’s Foster Youth on the path to self-sufficiency, we recognize that everyone arrives at certain check points at different times based on life circumstances. In an effort to extend the opportunity to gain meaningful work experience to all who are eligible, we have re-opened the youth application for the Summer 2019 Youth Employment Work Session for the Division of Family and Children Services’ Georgia TeenWork Internship Program. The Summer 2019 ** youth participant application will close on Friday, April 19, 2019 ** and we are looking forward to all of the youth who will apply.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure foster youth, ages 16-17,  participate in valuable job readiness training and work experiences to develop skills that promote self-sufficiency and independence. Our secondary goal is to ensure we continue to partner with businesses and organizations who are committed to contributing to the success of our youth who participate in the provided work experiences.

2019 Youth Participant Application

The youth participant application is available at the following website: dfcs.georgia.gov/youth-information and will be closing on Friday, April 19, 2019.  To ensure eligible youth apply and are prepared to begin working, please see the 2019 Georgia TeenWork Eligibility Requirements below:

  • GEORGIA FOSTER YOUTH, AGES OF 16 - 17 YEARS OLD; CANNOT TURN 18 YEARS OLD PRIOR TO JULY 1, 2019
  • VALID SOCIAL SECURITY CARD AND STATE OF GEORGIA ISSUED IDENTIFICATION CARD (or DRIVER’S LICENSE)
  • COMPLETED ONLINE APPLICATION (dfcs.georgia.gov/youth-information)
  • COMPLETED PAYROLL PACKET (Provided by Georgia TeenWork Staff during application and selection period)
  • ATTENDANCE TO AT LEAST ONE MANDATORY JOB READINESS TRAINING (Job Readiness Training Schedule will be provided to all selected participants during application and selection period)
