The Skills to Asset Summer 2020 programming provided the by Georgia Cultivating the Rising Experienced Worker (CREW) Program (formerly Georgia TeenWork) provides the opportunity for current foster youth ages 16 -17 years old to gain extensive training and work experience. This opportunity will allow participants to develop positive relationships with a cohort of regional peers (CREWs) who are working towards the same goal of experiencing positive opportunities, learning critical skills and ensuring self-sufficiency for the future.

Working in a CREW gives participants the chance to engage in a process that fosters critical thinking, problem solving, judgment and decision-making as well as to enhance character skills in working effectively with other. Over the course of the program, participants will have the opportunity to receive a paid incentive for their participation and completion of the sessions. The goal is to help transition participants into successful, independent young adults by arming them with marketable skills and supportive mentoring experience.

 Participation in this program in contingent upon eligibility status and the submission of an online application by May 15, 2020. All of the following eligibility requirements must be met to be considered for acceptance:

  • Must be between the ages of 16 - 17 years old by June 1, 2020 (And will not turn 18 years old prior to July 1, 2020)
  • Must be a youth currently in foster care within Georgia and residing in Georgia
  • A U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, or have an employment authorization card
  • Possess a valid State of Georgia photo ID
  • Participate in the Skills to Assets Training program as outlined through the attendance requirements

 

All youth, regardless of previous participation, MUST apply via the link provided below.

Submission of an application does not guarantee participation in the summer work experience.
