E-Blast: Post-Secondary Pursuits for Foster Youth - Peach State Tours!

August 6, 2019 9:26 AM

Greetings Georgia!!!

The GARYSE Chafee Program is excited to share the upcoming Peach State Tour information sessions designed to help students learn more about Georgia State University, Georgia Tech and University of Georgia. These are free events open to high school students and their caregivers. We urge you to pass this information along to staff, caregivers, and most importantly to our young people!

Please see the links below to pass along to our young people. They can use the links to learn more about the Peach State Tour and to register for upcoming sessions. The first sessions will be held Monday, August 19th!!!

Also - this is a GREAT time of year to start discussing post-secondary readiness opportunities with our young people! Ask them whether they've taken the SAT/ACT - and urge them to also talk to their school guidance counselor about waivers to take those aptitude tests.

Finally - I want to introduce everyone to Gerrica Morton, our Region 4 Independent Living Specialist who will be our program's Point of Contact for Post Secondary Pursuits and Readiness Opportunities for foster youth. Look forward to receiving future correspondence from Gerrica regarding college, technical school, trade school, and training opportunities available to our young people.
