The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) Afterschool Care Program would like to announce the release of the Afterschool Care Program Statement of Need (SoN) for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2022 (October 1, 2021 – September 30, 2022). This Statement of Need announcement has been issued by the DFCS Afterschool Care Program to seek proposals from non-profit organizations and public agencies that provide quality out-of-school time programs and services to youth between the ages of 5 and 17.

Out-of-school time programs funded through this Statement of Need must serve youth and families within low-to-moderate income communities and the foster care system within the state of Georgia based on the eligibility guidelines outlined within the Statement of Need document. The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family and Children Services and Afterschool Care Program reserve the right to make any updates or omissions to this SoN while it is posted and also reserves the right the cancel this Statement of Need proposal solicitation at any time.

FFY 2022 Afterschool Statement of Need (SoN) Mandatory Information Session

All organizations and agencies who would like to submit an application for funding consideration for FFY 2022 MUST ensure a representative from their organization/agency participates in a virtual mandatory Statement of Need information session. The sessions will provide information regarding program requirements and submission protocol. Pre-Registration for either mandatory information session is REQUIRED. The link to enter the Zoom session will only be shared with participants that pre-register using the links provided. Sessions will be held on the following dates and times:

· Tuesday, April 13, 2021 via Zoom at 10 a.m. – Registration Link: Registration is closed.

· Wednesday, April 14, 2021 via Zoom at 2 p.m. – Registration Link: Registration is closed.

Each offered session will cover the same information. An agency does not have to attend both sessions. Only one session is required to submit an application for funding consideration. Each session will offer the required information for application and new submission requirements for FFY 2022. Early registration is strongly suggested to secure a spot in the preferred session.

 

*** FFY 2022 Statement of Need Mandatory Information Session Make-Up Opportunity ***

Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11 AM EST

All organizations and agencies who would like to submit an application for funding consideration for FFY 2022 and missed the previously advertised Statement of Need Mandatory Information Sessions or were not able to participate in a full session will have ONE FINAL OPPORTUNITY to fulfill this requirement.  The FFY 2022 Statement of Need Mandatory Make-Up Information Session will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11 AM EST via ZOOM.  The session will begin promptly at 11 AM.  There will not be any additional opportunities to attend the mandatory information session. 

Important Note: An agency does not have to attend this make-up opportunity if they successfully attended one of the sessions offered on April 13, 2021 or April 14, 2021.  Pre-registration IS required to attend the Make-Up Information Session.

Please Note: The instructions to access the FFY 2022 Afterschool Care Program SoN submission portal will be provided at each mandatory information session. You must remain logged on (with your video/camera on) for the entire duration of the information session in order to receive your Application Submission Access Information and Instructions. The Afterschool Care Program will restrict the mandatory information session ZOOM access 10 minutes after the indicated start time of each session. No additional access will be granted after that time. There will be no exceptions to this requirement. The Georgia Department of Human Services, Georgia Division of Family and Children Services and the Afterschool Care Program are not responsible for any costs incurred for computer or online session participation. The costs of participation is the responsibility of the participating party.

Computer and System Requirements – Please ensure that you have access to a computer or device that can connect to the internet and has video, microphone and sound capability. You will also need Zoom capability to participate in the session. We are NOT responsible for computers or devices that do not meet these requirements.
