Current Providers

The mission of the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) Foster Care program is to strengthen families, protect children from further abuse and neglect and to assure that every child has a permanent family. The private provider community is an important and integral part of DFCS's ability to achieve its mission. The Room Board and Watchful Oversight (RBWO) supports the DFCS mission and provides guidance to Child Caring Institutions and Child Placing Agencies contracted with DFCS.

The Office of Provider Management hosts trainings for current providers, including the 120-hour RBWO Foundations training for new staff in specified roles, Reasonable and Prudent Parenting, Every Child Every Month (ECEM), and other topics. GA+SCORE also posts training information supplied by other DFCS departments, including NTDC Train-the-Trainer sessions. OPM may also post registration information for other public and private trainings of interest to RBWO providers.

For CPAs: How do I remove a foster home member in GA+SCORE?

Effective 2/1/18, CPA Providers now have the option to remove member records (except Primary Caregivers) from a foster home in GA+SCORE until you submit the initial approval for review by OPM. This feature helps you to manage household composition for foster homes that are reopening after a period away from fostering, homes moving from one provider to another, or homes that experience changes in composition during the inquiry period.

To remove a member, click directly on the member's name, or click on the Members tab and select the relevant member. On the Members >> Member Data screen, a green button labeled "Remove Member" appears below the regular "Save" button if the home has not yet been submitted and the member is not the primary caregiver. You will be given a chance to cancel/confirm before GA+SCORE removes the record.

Why isn't the button visible on the Members >> Member Data screen?
The button appears only for homes with the status "Initial Approval - open for editing" and only for members with roles other than Primary Caregiver. If a home has been grandfathered in or reopened with your program within 3 years of a prior closure -- if for any reason the home is not in the status "Initial Approval - open for editing" -- you cannot use this feature. Use the Move-Out Addendum instead.

How do I remove the primary caregiver from a home in GA+SCORE?
You cannot remove the primary caregiver from a home in GA+SCORE. If there is also a secondary caregiver, please contact support@gascore.com to have the primary and secondary caregivers switched; then, you can remove the newly appointed secondary caregiver.

How do I remove a member once the initial approval has been submitted in GA+SCORE?
You cannot make changes to a home's composition in GA+SCORE while the initial approval is pending OPM review. If the initial approval is rejected, you can remove the member with this button once the home's status returns to "Initial Approval - open for editing". Changes to open/approved homes require an addendum. Use the type "Household Composition Change - Move Out".

RBWO Foundations Classroom Training is conducted using a hybrid model. There will be four (4) days of virtual training via Microsoft Teams. Participants will then be required to take the test in person. Testing will be done in Atlanta, GA the week after training concludes. The testing dates are listed on the registration website. Participants will sign up for their testing date and time at the conclusion of classroom training.
